Becky Martinez, founder and owner of 1st Ave Urban Microfarm, has been growing food for her family for the past 12 years. About 6 years ago, she began to scale up operations turning her then hobby garden into an urban micro-farm that has 600 square feet of growing space, a flock of 5 egg-laying hens, 3 different composting systems, a rain-water catchment system, and seed-starting greenhouse.

All of this is located on their urban home lot in Denver, Colorado which is about 1/5 of an acre, or 8000+ square feet.

In addition to growing food for her family, she also has great passion for teaching and coaching others interested in growing food for themselves, their families, and their community.
